I no longer have a Kizi, but pop in from time to time. I now have a Vauxhall Cascada, which is a lovely looking soft top, and technically a better car. That said, I enjoyed my time with the Kizi more. I miss it's growl when I pressed the gas, I miss it's mid range acceleration, and despite the U.S market being used to bigger HP engines, over here in the UK, I miss it's above average power. I loved the fact it could be very refined, and owning a sport, I loved all the toys. The Kizi looked great, and always put a smile on my face. Suzuki make reliable cars, so don't worry to much about parts. Enjoy it while you have it, because you will miss it when it's gone.

Hey pakizzie2015! I am pretty sure you won't have any problem with your Kizashi. I bought a 2012 Kizashi Sport iAWD (CVT) in October 2012 and it has been trouble free since then. I only changed the front rotors, front break pads and the original Dunlop tires.

PS I plan to drive mine until the wheels fall off... I would buy another one if I could lol AMAZING CAR

Are any of those Subaru in a decent condition and under 120K miles and 2010 or newer though? Since Suzuki pulled out of the US market, the value on all of their models have dropped significantly. I can find Kizashi GTS/SLS models for under $10K with not that many miles. None of them are in the Midwest area , but I digress.

On a side note, I found a 09/10 Suzuki Grand Vitara with 21K miles on it for $8000-ish dollars in my area. If I hadn't just bought a 2011 Chevy Cruze a couple days before, I totally would have gone to test drive it. It was a stick too. Gone now though... :(

Subarus are definitely worth more in my area. In fact, I was looking for one but found that their resale value was too high for a good deal on a used one. I then learned about the Kizashi and when I finally came to terms with a manual being mutually exclusive to AWD, it was easy to see that the Kizashi was a much better deal. In fact, I'd say it's a car that offers Legacy-like refinement but Impreza-like driving dynamics.

My experience with used Subarus is the same as Kuro. Seems like everyone wants an arm and a leg for their used Subaru.

I had an 09 Impreza for a little while this year. You can sense a lot of the rallying roots in the engineering of the handling of the older Imprezas when you're driving over rough surfaces. I can't speak for the Legacy, but I'd say that Imprezas and Outbacks don't want to live on pavement. Meanwhile, the Kizashi is a road car through-and-through, hugging the pavement like the sports sedan that it knows it could be if it had a little more horsepower.

First post here, but we've had our Kizashi for 2 1/2 years now with no issues. I did have to replace the rear brakes at 38k miles, but that seems to be a common issue. (Especially on ones in the salt belt like ours (PA).) The ears of the pads were frozen on the caliper brackets, and wouldn't float. Had to beat and pry to get them off. New ones went in like butter.
Not much to complain about with these cars except resale value and the paint seems to chip easier than any other car I've owned. Other than that, I feel it's a good solid ride and I'm happy to own it.
And like KansasKid said, it handles like a true sports sedan. I even took ours out to a couple autocross events just for kicks and giggles.

Welcome! A few of us have experienced the rear brake issue, myself included. Did you do anything to the caliper brackets to prevent the new pads from seizing?

How does the Kizashi fair for autox?

All 4 wheels planted on terra-firma even in hard cornering at speed. As it should be. Nice.

Welcome and great first post btw.
