Rear Shock failure issue and TSB & Warranty Repair
As long as Suzuki kept building quantities of Kizashis, KYB would build whatever Suzuki wanted the way they wanted and charge accordingly...in quantity. As an aftermarket supplier, there is no way, KYB or any manufacturer would make 4 or 8 different 'replacement' components for the same function for a car, or anything else, that sold as few units worldwide as the Kizashi. You can be certain that when Suzuki runs out of their stash of their KYB built OE part numbers, that will be the end of all the differently tuned shocks and struts for a Kizashi. Suzuki will revert back to the one part KYB produces and that will be that. If you want or think you'll need them, buy while in supply, now.

I have a 2011 Sport GTS and I went with the KYB rear shocks due to the cost of the Suzuki OE parts. I can't give a very detailed report on how well they perform, however, because I drove for 3-4 months on the worn original shocks bottoming out. The seat of the pants feel while cornering seems the same as the original shocks, but it is tough to compare because I drove for so long with the broken rear suspension.
I had the revised bump stopper from the TSB installed as well.

Thanks for the input. At least we know what matters most: the KYB shocks fit the Sport models so they are a replacement option.88ws-6 wrote:I have a 2011 Sport GTS and I went with the KYB rear shocks due to the cost of the Suzuki OE parts. Hi. Just got 2010 SE AWD for my son and got the same leaky rear shock. I got KYB revised bump stop and it looks exactly like the OEM revised bump stop. Could not tell any difference with the shock valving. The current 215/55/17 touring tires are too cushy to notice any performance difference.
Do you have a part number or any more details for the KYB bump stops?Kisazhi wrote:Hi. Just got 2010 SE AWD for my son and got the same leaky rear shock. That would be correct. Mine was just barely covered under warranty, due to mileage, at the time I had them replaced.newworld2004 wrote:I have 2010 with appx 45K on it, dealer wonb't replaced rear faulty shocks as 3 years/36000 miles is passed, I guess I now have to do it with get after market shocks and bump stopper.

You can get your rear shocks for rather cheap because your 2010 can use the aftermarket KYBs without compromises. The Kizashi Sports can also fit them, but the aftermarket KYB shocks apparently have different valving from the OE Sport shocks. Just make sure to also get the new bump stoppers with the corrected design.newworld2004 wrote:I have 2010 with appx 45K on it, dealer wonb't replaced rear faulty shocks as 3 years/36000 miles is passed, I guess I now have to do it with get after market shocks and bump stopper.

on shockwarehouse.com , for rear is only one part# however front is two separate ones.
