Does Spotify work with Rockford Fosgate sound system?

So, I've been hearing a lot about how RF system can only read music files through a certain formatting system (eg, USB stick, iphone music... etc) and was wondering if Spotify is compatible with RF. I've researched multiple ways to widen my music to more than just my USB (My phone is not compatible) and they're either too expensive (I live in Australia, everything is too expensive here) for me or reduce the sound quality.

So, I've decided to see if Spotify is one of the compatible programs that can work through RF, that way I can buy maybe a gen 3 or 4 iPod touch and use that with Spotify through cable.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Cheers :drive:

That's not an after market install, is it? The nav system that is. And I'm assuming you use cable, not bluetooth?

I use Spotify through Bluetooth on my Samsung S7 and it works perfectly. Standard RF unit.

I don't have Bluetooth. Would it still work through cable?

Won't work like that. You need to input the audio somehow, so if you don't have bluetooth or any aux port it is impossible.

I had the same issue, as my RF system hasn't the bt feature, so I bought an iSimple IS31 Direct FM Modulator (inline) and installed it. It adds an auxiliary input that you can tune in the FM frequency.
Audio is in fact really good considering its an FM modulator.

When I say cable, I mean USB cable connected to phone. Currently I'm using a USB for music. I don't have a US model of the car, (Like I said, I live in Australia).

It's worth a shot. I use my ipod that way through the usb port and run spotify on it.
