Anyone know what's a good way to stop and prevent.calipers from rusting? Or least getting that surface rust....I've asked a few people locally and they say there.nothing can do just happens. Live in western new.York so winter doesn't help.

Nylon bristle cups or wheels on a drill (Nyalox is the best brand) is the best way to make calipers like new. Then you can hit them with a high temp clear paint.

I've had good luck with brushing on POR15 over OE/cast type calipers. Two brushed coats over a properly prepped surface should do for some time. Just be careful not to burnish the surface if you use a powered method of surface prep. The burnished finish doesn't leave much tooth for the coating to adhere to, and POR15 is more sensitive to this issue than most coatings.

I like to topcoat with a 2-part urethane, but that's probably a bit much for OE type calipers. For calipers that are highly sexual in nature, I find it more than justifiable.
