Also got trans fluid replaced at 50500 miles. No metal shavings in the oil according to my friend, which is nice, considering I learned how to drive stick on the kiz.

Picked up a screw right down the middle of the tread. I'm glad the car comes with an actual spare tire and not a stupid flat repair kit.

Was lightly hit by a distracted driver changing lanes and not signaling. Looks to be about $3K in damage, parts on order.

Least it's not a total write off. Seems the ins. companies have a desire to get our Suzukis off the road and in to salvage auctions. I'd be willing to bet once they get into it the bill will be more than $3k. I see a wheel, the bumper cover and a fender.

The wheel hit adds another dimension to the diag/repair...possible suspension parts and bearings, alignment check at a bare minimum. If it's out, then that elevates the situation. Make sure the other person's insurance company, and your shop, are aware in no uncertain terms that they will be responsible for any future bearing issues that arise down the road since, as with everything Kizashi...it won't be cheap. A smack like that won't immediately produce a noticeable problem but can, and have, caused bearings to fail later on and at even greater cost in some cases. Technically, the bearings should be replaced as a matter of precaution since the wheel was struck, and, while in motion. I've been told by one trusted mechanic I've used over the years that it was their shop's SOP on any vehicle they repaired that had wheel strikes during accidents. They didn't want any of the liability issues that came along with NOT thoroughly inspecting the bearings. His rational is the only way to know for sure was to tear it down and inspect. At that point, damaged or not, they'd just replace the serviceable parts with new since the bulk of the cost was the labor to get to that point.

Aw dude, that sucks. By the looks of it, they came over while they were in your A-pillar blind spot so you couldn't react either. Hopefully it's fixable. Bad drivers are the reason we can't have nice things :(

I bought a used kizashi 2012 model a couple of days back... FWD CVT....19k km on the odometer... Need to get a few niggles fixed- couple of bushes, rear shocker is leaking.. Enough of the bad stuff... I love the ride....its smooth and peppy. It feels exclusive. Love the leather upholstery.. Beginning of an adventure... :drive:

Welcome vikrantgulatee

Those shocks are leaking because of a poorly designed bump stop. Get a set of these to put on with the new shocks.

Welcome. Glad to hear you like your new Kizashi.
As Woodie stated, the rear shocks prematurely failing is a common issue with the Kizashi. The problem is caused by faulty rear bump stoppers that retain water and moisture. These then promote the corrosion of the rear shocks. Hence, it's important that when you replace your rear shocks, you also replace the rear bump stoppers with the revised ones that have the new design. These will prevent the premature corrosion. Woodie's photo shows what the new ones look like including the part number.

Changed the engine oil and filter, 61,683 miles. While I was under there, I removed the driver's side under cover, which has only ever been off once, and had a good look around with the trouble light. Noticed that there's some oily moisture on the bottom of the transfer case. Followed it up to the source...transfer case output shaft seal has a slight leak :( .

It's not dripping or anything like that yet, simply moist. It will get worse over time, so I'll need to get that dealt with under warranty between now and next fall, when my powertrain warranty expires at 7 years. Not an easy place to try and replace a seal w/o a lift lying on my back w/ no room to work. As much as I hate to turn it over to the professional monkeys, this one is definitely going in for a warranty replacement. Easier to do battle with their BS than it is for me to try and replace it...I don't contort as easily as I used to . Hell, I cramped up twisting around under there just trying to get the camera in position to take a couple pics of the source of the leak!

Checked everything else up front that could leak and everything else is dry.
If you've never popped that driver's side undercover off, or haven't lately, I suggest doing so and having a look see at things especially if the cars age is such (2010) that your powertrain warranty will be ending very soon.

Interesting. I had an input shaft seal leak on my MT Kizashi. This happened with less than 30K miles.
