Disconnect the battery overnight to see if it resets the code?

Yeah, I'd try disconnecting the battery to reset things and clear the code. If it's an ongoing issue, the warning will reappear. Also, do you have one of those Bluetooth OBDII readers? They are quite cheap now and work with apps like Dash Command that can read CEL codes and also clear them. I have a wifi-based device that works very well.

Sounds good, I'll try the battery disconnect if it doesn't clear in the next few trips.
I've been wanting to invest in a good obd2 interface for a long time now, but a stand-alone unit. Any recommendations? Anything up to $1k would be fine since I could use it with the other cars as well.

Eh, I think getting an app based program via a Bluetooth or Wifi connection is better. While not stand-alone, it's going to allow functionality with multiple apps, have much better updates and glitch fixes, and allow you live-read outs for performance on your smartphone, iPod Touch, iPad, etc.SamirD wrote:Sounds good, I'll try the battery disconnect if it doesn't clear in the next few trips.

I personally have a Kiwi Wifi OBDII device and have both the Dash Command and FuzzyCar app. Dash Command is much better but also costs more. It all works quite well with the Kizashi, but in all honesty, I don't really use it unless I need to check a CEL (which has never come on for the Kizashi). I think these things would be great for performance driving and track days. DC has neat features to measure 1/4 mile runs, 0 to 60, lap data, etc.

I haven't looked at scan tools in a while, and holy cow things have changed. Even the pro tools are now tablets connected via bt.KuroNekko wrote:Eh, I think getting an app based program via a Bluetooth or Wifi connection is better. What I did find that was interesting was that you can even get key programming tools now. So much for heading to the Suzuki dealership to get the key programmed, hehe. I can buy my own tool for the service charge and I don't have to leave home to do it.
Thank you very much for these! Scangauge seems like home--it's almost identical to the tectom mdm-100 I have for the Altimas.krell wrote:ScanGauge or Ultra-gauge
I have an Automatic and use Dash Command. Tells me a lot of stuff. A lot of stuff I have no idea that it's telling me since I'm not really a tuner. I wish it had codes for oil pressure and temp and transmission oil temp. That would really be handy.
Yesterday...
Got the K's annual safety inspection and emissions testing done at the ex-dealer zuk service center (64,985 miles). Passed, as always, w/ flying colors. OE brake pads are still 50% or better. Had them cross-forward rotate the new Kumho's (first rotation @4k), OTD $71.95.
They observed and confirmed the t-case output flange seal leak I'd notified them about couple months ago in an attempt to have them order the seal and have it there for yesterday's inspection trip...yep, seal's leaking just like I said. Brilliant. Now they'll order it which means another trip for me down there. Actually, it's leaking worse than 2 months ago as drops are now forming and not simply the weeping moisture originally noticed. Covered under 7/100 powertrain warranty. First seal of any type that's had to be changed on any of the 5 DD Suzukis I've owned.
Factory trained zuk tech is no longer there, which is a disappointment, so we'll see how all that goes. However, they are now selling high dollar Alfa Romeos, so there's 2 factory trained dudes floating around for those. Presumably capable. I'd just as soon use their lift and do it myself. Every time I have someone else change a simple rotating shaft seal, they end up causing more damage than what they cure. Either by gouging the race or scratching the shaft or messing up something else getting to it.
Can't stress enough to all those under warranty still...climb under the car, pull the two under-covers off and have a good look around for anything that's leaking or out of the ordinary so you can get it repaired at their cost before your warranty's expired. Mines expires on time this coming November.
