As noisy as the previous set of General tires were, they had much better lateral handling properties at slightly lower pressures, and therefore seemed to ride a little better. But, damn noisy.
Fortunately, my current daily travels yield few bone jarring sections and I can mainly avoid them, usually, for now...I take full advantage of the entire width of the roadway if ya know what I mean. The truly 'bad' sections of my daily commute, I'm usually crawling along anyway. Overall, though, the state roads around here especially are steadily deteriorating as they had back in the 70s and 80s. There's progress for ya. Little to no maintenance and what they do 'fix, cost far more than it should and is done completely half-assed. By the time the Kiz is end of life I'll be back to DDing truck based vehicles solely again, the Wrangler, as I had back in the day for this very reason. Since our state government is so efed up and out of control, there's no money for anything I need them to spend it on...the roads.
What Did You Do With Your Kizashi Today?
Generals noisy?
I'm looking to get new tires and right now I'm trying to decide between
General Altimax RT43 $80 & Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season PLUS $102
I was leaning towards the Altimax because they are better in snow but read that the Cinturato is quieter.
I have Michelin Defenders now that I like but at 50,000 miles the grip in the snow is not great and want to try to find a different quiet tire. Your mention that the Generals are noisy is changing me to think the Cinturato might be a better choice. Are the noisy Generals "General Altimax RT43's "?

The Generals were the G-Max tire. Not good in the snow either. Great in the rain.

One nice thing about being back in California are the roads. Nice and wide and in great condition. Much higher speed limits than the Mid-Atlantic too. Pot holes are rare given that the main reasons that cause them are not really applicable here: freezing winters and lots of rain. That being said, the state likes to torch itself.

Alabama has similar roads and I never realized how good they were until seeing the midwest--yuck! The roads here wear out suspensions so fast.
Azumi hit 42001 miles today. Also, I attempted to remove her throttle body so I could clean it, but failed to unhook it before it got dark too dark to work on it.

2011. My wife hates driving, so she doesn't take it on the highway much, and we live in a good suburb, so just about everything we need is within like 5 miles or so.SamirD wrote:Wow, that's some low miles! Got Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) done yesterday. Had two small but noticeable dings on the front passenger door. I took it to the local PDR specialist and he got to it right away and I chatted with him while he worked. He told me that he's worked on thousands of cars but it was his first time with a Kizashi and he didn't think he's ever even seen one before.
After getting the dents out, he polished the scratches out carefully using a combo of ultra fine grit sanding and then polishes. When I complained about the Kizashi's thin paint and chipping, he stated that the paint on the car was very soft so he could see how the chipping would be an issue.
The end result of the PDR was very satisfying as it made the damage completely disappear like it never happened. It's also always nice to watch a pro work to see the skills and techniques.

Spent Christmas away at work sadly but on Christmas day I went for a spin around an Island called South Uist.
No work on the day itself so I did some exploring & managed to snap some nice pictures of my Kizashi!
Also just completed my first 2,000 miles since owning the car!
