Mine does rattle depending on how much bass a certain mp3 I am playing has. But it's the kind of rattling that tells me that turning the volume up passed 15 or 16 is too much for it because it just isn't a good sub-woofer. I like the Rockford unit itself, but I wasn't impressed with the sound system at all. I checked my own woofer out and it is working properly, but just can't handle much punch. So I've been careful never to put the volume up passed about 16 for fear of blowing it. But anyhow, the last two cars I owned had factory sound systems that I think probably sounded a little better than the Kizashis Rockford Fosgate.
And yes, the second day after I bought my Kizashi, I noticed the volume jumping on it's own. I knew what it was right away, and then put the AVC on 0 which helped. But every now and then it still jumps for no reason. I owned a 97 camaro Z28 years ago, that had an AVC, which worked a hell of a lot better and would gradually turn the volume up or down flawlessly depending on the road noise. It worked great. But it's obvious that Rockford Fosgate sound system has problems and Suzuki should have used someone else to supply the sound system for the vehicle. It's pathetic that a 97 camaro 14 year old radio had smoother AVC functionality than the Rockford which was designed in the new millennium.
But other than that, it still sounds ok and I was thrilled that I can plug a USB stick into it and play my tunes. So I'm happy for that at least. Just don't put the volume over 16! ha

Unfortunately a not too uncommon problem, check out this link:reza wrote:Did anybody have trouble with their Rockford Fosgate subwoofer. Like rattling sound. Had my car for less then 500 Km and the sub is rattling

I had to have my amp replaced and ever since my sub doesn't have nearly as much kick to it. It annoys me but I am not going through that hell again. It sucks though, my bass used to shake my rear view mirror so much I couldn't see the reflection!

If your sound jumps it's your amp. This is a very common issue and Suzuki is aware of it. Your dealer will test your amp and when it fails, they will order a new one. Hopefully you get a decent amp to replace it, it seems that my replacement amp has less power... but at least the volume doesn't jump anymore.KIZAWDinKC wrote:Mine does rattle depending on how much bass a certain mp3 I am playing has. My first kizashi (I bought a 2010 GTS in another state) had a blown sub-woofer and when I brought it in 1 week later to get it fixed (at another dealer in my state) I ended up trading it in for a 2010 SLS(what I really should have bought to begin with) which now has the up and down volume problem. (but the sub is ok)
It is annoying, and very dramatic when it jumps up. I was trying to figure out at which MPH it changed but it is all over the place. I had turned off the AVC and it was a little better, but now I have it on the second level because I like the extra boost. It doesn't deliver as much "oomph" when the AVC is off, even if I try to compensate by turning it up. I notice it more when running the music via bluetooth for some reason.
Now I'll have them check my amp out. I thought it was "normal"
