Kizashi and Chevy Cruze.

Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

Does anyone else think the new cruze looks a lot like the Kizashi? Chevy must have seen a good thing and figured it would try and replicate it?

This is just my opinion...I have not seen 2 next to each other.

Funny you should say that. The Kizashi and Chevy Cruze were originally designed to run on the same platform. When Chevy and Suzuki split the sheets Suzuki went back to the drawing board and came up with their own platform.

At least that is what I remember from when I first created this site before the car was out. :) It was probably the other way around since the Kizashi was out long before the Cruze.

Not exactly true, Cruze was delayed in US Market. It was introduced in foreign market about year and a half ago, just about Kizashi's launch period.

Just my 2 cents :).

They look very close in size, but I don't think they were on the same platform at all.
The Cruze (J300) was always conceived as Delta global. I think the Kizashi was Epsilon global short wheel base (same as the Buick Regal and the Opel Insignia)

I had the chance to drive both cars (Cruze and Kizashi) and while the Cruze is a nice car, the Kizashi is just better, and a much better "driver's" car. The Cruze was in fact at the top of my list for new car until I stumbled on the Kiz ;)

the cruze states that it gets the best gas mileage out of any gas engine in the united states with 42mpg... Does not state highway miles but the kizashi gets the same if not better... I drive my kizashi for long distances and getting 36mph at 70mph... so If I slowed it down I know for a fact that I can get over the 42mpg that chevy is boasting about... but yes, the cruze has some qualities that definetely look like the kizashi design

I don't see it. If you said VW Jetta, then I'd say definitely.

The Chevy Cruise was derived from the platform of the older Daewoo Nubia-Suzuki Forenza, which was the last compact-mid-sized Daewoo-based car marketed as a Suzuki in the USA. The Kizashi was NOT spun off of that chassis: it is a product of solely Japanese design with NO Korean elements incorporated into the design.
