Just wondering, does the kizzy in the states due for regular maintenance every 3 months or 5000 km as well? oil change every 3 months seems a bit too frequent. I drive about 5k to 6k km every six months. All pervious vehicles i owned change engine oil every half a year. Can I wait for half a year to do the oil change or do i have to do it every 3 months?

That is not true - oil (specifically the additive package) does indeed wear out. Synthetics usually need less additives, and therefore don't wear out as fast.

I too have been doing the Mobil 1 every 6 months. At 6 months my changed oil has been dark but not yet dirty/gritty and I feel I probably could have gone longer, but I don't like to push it. I still get top fuel efficiency on the hwy/interstate and the engine still purrs like the first day I brought it home.JDReichert wrote:My dealer recommends every 5,000 miles or 6 months for Mobil 1 synthetic 5w- 30. I also always replace the filter with a Suzuki OEM. I have 12,600 miles and the car has no problems. Oil does not ware out, it just gets dirty and has acids in it.

Note: When I switched Mobil 1 at 1,000 miles, I got a noticeable gain to MPG at higher sustained speeds. Full syn pays for itself and then some, IMO.

so if I wait until 5000km or 6 months in between oil changes, will that void my warranty??
Why don't you change the filter every time? Seems kind of silly to me to potentially put your engine at risk over $10.NJKizashi wrote:30k on my SLS..Synth Oil change every 5k (without fail)...either Mobil-1 or Royal Purple...summer I put in 10w-40

I would recommend that everyone who wants to go to longer intervals or things like this get a used engine oil analysis done and make the decision from a direction of facts and data, not just what you've heard people do. There is no way to really tell if damage is being done until it's too late, otherwise!

According to maintenance book , Oil change is required every 7500 miles or 7.5 months, since my car is 2010 wuth 800 miles, should I wait until it reaches 7500 miles to do oil change or change it now?
thx

It is a good idea to change oil more often on a new engine, as there are bound to be wear products getting into the oil, ‘shavings’; it feels good to get them out. Suzuki doesn’t require you to do that.
For example, on mine I changed the oil at 600 miles, 3900 miles, 8338 miles, and 15458 miles. The manual, at the same time, only required oil changes at 7500 miles and 15000 miles (under severe driving conditions, the manual recommends changing oil every 3000 miles).
