2010 Suzuki Kizashi SLS AWD CVT in Platinum Silver

@Suzuki - I hope you are able to take care of the problems with the current Kizashi's, and then fix the problem for those not yet produced. There is one thing that is holding me back from buying a Kizashi, the problems with paint chipping. I'm sure I'm not the only one and not addressing the problem will significantly hurt Kizashi's long-term sales numbers.
So I go to the Suzuki Auto facebook page today and see that my posts about the paint issue have been deleted by Suzuki Auto. I feel horrible for those who are having this problem and not getting anywhere with Suzuki yet. I am relentless and have even tried politely contacting a couple of important people (at American Suzuki) by finding their personal facebook pages. We'll see if I get a response. I don't think it is right to say who they are on this forum, but I do have every right to attempt to contact them. If I were top person at Suzuki, I would surely want to know about this issue.
I should also mention that I received an email response a while ago from a PR person at American Suzuki. This person was really nice and honest when I asked him a couple questions about incentives (before I discovered the paint issue). Anyhow, I will be contacting this person again but right now he is on vacation (got the vacation automated email response). I know for a fact he knows a top person at American Suzuki. I am hoping he will take me seriously and pass my message along to that person concerning the paint problems people are having.

Does anyone have a RED Kizashi and if so, any paint problems?
I just bought te Peral Black Metalic SLS, I have been reading all the posts on the paint problems, I talked with the dealer here local who sold 14 just last month and they have not had any reported problems at this time.
I am wondering if this is a regional issue - I live in KC so if there is anyone in this same area with this issue may want to add this data to your tracking.
The other question I have - of those that are having the paint issues have you waxed your car by had (Not the car wash) Even a brand new car needs a realy good wax job - it helps protect it - Also I am going to get the 3M clear protectant sounds as though from the other post this may be a good option.

I wouldn't even try to wax mine, I have tiny circular scratches in the top coat from using a sham-wow to dry my car. I honestly don't think you can protect your car from these kinds of chips and scratches. I have them on my bumper even. Good news is that it doesn't seem to be a problem with all of the Kizashi's. Hopefully yours is just fine, the car is great besides it. All I'm saying is that I wouldn't spend a huge amount of time and money trying to protect your car from this type of paint chipping and scratching to try to prevent this specific problem from happening because it isn't going to matter.
i have the SLS AWD Black Pearl Metallic, the car was waxed by myself first week after the purchase and I still have the chips. No amount of wax or "paint sealer" is ever able to stop paint chips on any car. Regardless, the amount of chips on the car is simply inexcusable....we shall see what Suzuki decides to do .
No offense Aragon, but if I was Suzuki I would be inclined to say yours isn't a defect either. One big chip clearly shows that something hit the car. It's a big chip, but the black streak on the paint above it looks like something pretty big hit it. One of the other photos shows your tire tread and it appears to have a LOT of small rocks in the tread. You may not drive on gravel or dirt roads, but it looks like maybe you live in an area where they use a lot of gravel on the road in their winter salt mix??
I'm the same way. I'm not willing to jump in on buying a Kizashi until I can see how the paint situation plays out. I'll be holding off for the 2011 model at this point. The backup plan is the VW GTI.RV1458 wrote:@Suzuki - I hope you are able to take care of the problems with the current Kizashi's, and then fix the problem for those not yet produced. Volunteer,
There are A BUNCH of tiny chips on the hood (and other places) now but they're hard to photograph ( along with the scratches) because I either keep on getting the reflection of whatever is oppoisite of it (the sky...my garage ceiling...) and when I use my flash, all you can see is the flash. I also didn't post all of the pictures since there are so many and I had a hard time figuring out how to do it. Something DID hit my vehice...a bunch of rocks. I understand rock chips will happen but I now count 52 chips in less than 2 months of having this car. I have lived in the same part of Colorado for all my life and in the winter they do use gravel but it's nothing really excesive. That doesn't even matter though, I should be able to drive down a gravel or dirt road anywhere and not have my car's paint ruined. My lasty vehicle had two chips and 3 scracthes after 3 1/2 years of having it. I take excellent care of my vehicles (along with my husband) and I would be the first one to bag on myself if I was treating the vehicle badly but I'm not. And even if Suzuki and you think that it isn't a defect, I know I will NEVER buy another Suzuki because I don't want a car that's going to chip and scratch this excessively. It pisses me off I pay for a new vehicle that looks worse that any other car I have ever had...and it has only been 2 months! I feel bad for anyone that thinks this is acceptable on any new/newer vehicle because it's not. I am complaining about this problem everywhere I can because I know if I had known about this chip/paint issue, no matter where the person complaining about the problem lived, I would've never taken a chance on a Suzuki car.
On a more positive note to others that are having this issue. I called Suzuki the Friday before last because I was concerned when Suzuki said on here that there was no record of this problem. Customer service was very friendly and DID have documentation of me bringing it to my dealership so that made me feel at least a little better. The lady was VERY nice and she has kept in constant contact with me about the status. All she has said so far is that my regional service tech is still researching the issue but it is nice she at least tells me that. I will (of course) post what the decision was and please let me know if anyone else hears a final answer first.
