go back to the dealer and get your amp replaced. quite a few people have this problem with their kizashi.

I had my sub replaced a couple months ago and have been very happy with it.
But mine still does have the issue of the automatic gain control jumping sometimes even though it's suppose to be off. I just decided to live with it because it just jumps a level sometimes when my car is moving at a decent speed. Doesn't really bother me even though I know it doesn't work correctly.
Apparently this was something that obviously was never tested on the Kiz before manufacturing them because it seems like this particular stereo does this on everyone's car. The whole point of an AGC is kinda stupid anyhow. I can turn the radio volume up and down on my own from the steering wheel. AGC was for back in the day when you had to reach over to adjust the knob because it was too much of a hassle to do so.

Bingo. I had the exact same problem with mine and that fixed it.Northernstar wrote:go back to the dealer and get your amp replaced. quite a few people have this problem with their kizashi.
Side note, I blew out my sub woofer last week. Not an easy fix, they have to take your back interior apart and it takes a couple hours. I now keep my punch bass at +4 instead of +6. lol

lol, was it covered under warranty??
It was covered. I felt a little guilty, but then I thought about it more and they shouldn't be putting speakers in that can't handle the stereo. I only had the volume set at 20 when the woofer blew, so it wasn't like I was pushing it unreasonably hard.
But I hate being without my Kiz, so it's punch bass +4 from now on for me. lol

Your sub is set to +4?? Mine is very rarely set above +1 (depending on song being played and how it was produced). Don't think you should be surprised that your sub blew dude. Try balancing out your sound so you're not just feeling the base thump through your chest and you'll be happier. Yeah music's supposed to be felt, but heard properly as well!:)Hawkzilla wrote:It was covered.
