So is it in my mind or does disabling ESC make your Kizashi perform better?
I think mine runs better with ESC turned off, which in a way makes sense.
Any thought about this ?

Mods: Cat Back, Under Drive Pulley, Strut Tower brace, K&N Filter, Sony Xplode 6 1/2 4 way speakers in rear, blacked out S in front grill, American Racing Alloys.
In theory under hard driving ESC uses the braking system to help 'stabilize' the car along w/ throttle control. So it would seem logical to me turning off the multiple computers ability to drive the car would make it seem that you, the driver, would feel a 'performance' difference. Better or worse is the true question.

That would seem to indicate a problem to me. Under normal driving conditions the ESC system shouldn't be doing anything.

I think it depends on what performance is better....
If you are accelerating, straight off the line, your 0-60 should not change at all, but if you mean, while you are cornering at high speeds, or on a track, the 'drifting' of the tires, as opposed to the braking of the computer, might actually improve time trials...

what iF ESC retarded the engine slightly or ran the engine a tiny bit leaner. that way suzuki could run ESC during fuel mileage test and then turn it off for horsepower tests. both of best worlds what if the button to turn off ESC was actually labeled SPORT MODE?

I doubt the ESC is tied at all to the performance settings of the engine. The ECS does improve handling at the limits both in wet and dry however, so it would not be a good idea to turn it off.
The ONLY time you should turn it off if you are getting bogged down in snowy conditions and/or having trouble getting going in those conditions. The ESC will detect the spinning wheels and reduce power to them. This actually works against you at times.
It is usually recommended that you turn it off until you are moving at a steady pace. I got bogged down in my Morano with pretty good winter ties once and as soon as I turned it off - it got going right off.

I have taken to turning off the ESC quite regularly now, near every time I'm about to go romping (like every time I approach any dirt road).it would not be a good idea to turn it off
The car definitely feels more alive. more responsive, more nimble somehow, seeming to change not just allowed throttle response, but even steering feel and the AWD balance.
I have not yet fully explored its potential on paved or unpaved roads; its limits remain above my own.
