Turn Signal Flasher Relay

Anyone have any info on the type of turn signal flasher relay the kizzy has? Is it thermal or electronic? Where is it located? Does it work with LED's?

Without looking at the schematic, I would bet it is electronic. In fact, if I remember it correctly, there is no flasher module, it is controlled by the BCM. Let me check the schematics and will reply back with the right answer ;)

I did see the schematics at one point, and I did not see a flasher, but then again I hear something clicking so I'm not sure. I would bet it's electronic. Any other info you can find will be appreciated. Thanks!

So after lots of research and order mistakes, I finally got the turn signal bulbs replaced with LED's. A few comments I can make: The turn signal relay is thermal. Therefore if you want it to act normal, you either have to change the relay to an electronic version, or add load resistors, or purchase high end LED's with load resistors built in. I opted to leave the hyperflash cause I like it! Bulbs are 1157A Double Contacts in front, even though in a regular incandescent lamp, the second filament is never used. IDK! , Original rear bulbs are some other weird base. Even though all documentation I find says they are 1156 Single Contact. I had to slightly modify the bulb holder to except the 1156A pins. Worked out fine so it will except both types now. Only other thing I can say, is changing bulbs in front is really a hassle. No room to play. And bulbs can drop into places almost impossible to reach so be careful! The whole setup seems to be a ploy to get you to go back to the dealer for these services. Even when you call the dealer for a bulb type they won't tell you. Anyway, there is always a way around this.

one question for you.......what's the point of replacing turn singal bulbs with LEDs?? just curious....

It's really just about looks. There is a noticeable difference in how the light is emitted. The richness of color being used. LED's turn on and off much faster then incandescents, so again the look of the light is sharp and crisp. Theoritically the bulb should outlast a typical incandescent bulb by far, but I've seen them fail very early on. Nowadays you can find very cheap replacements on ebay so it's no longer a factor when considering changing the stock bulbs.

besides front and rear gurn signals, what else have you replaced with LEDs?
are they easy to replace?

Tail/Stop lights, and Reversing Light (Very easy and straight forward). The license plate lights had the trunk lid insulator and plastic covers. And getting the bulbs in and out was awkward and frustrating. Took alot longer than I imagined. I'm waiting on the position and running LED's. The postion ones are in the headlamp housing, again very difficult to deal with, but probably the easiest of all the headlamp bulbs. The running lights on the sides simply require popping out the bumper sides. That is easy. Also waiting on some LED's for the under door courtesy lights. Hope they last a good amount of time. Especially anything in the headlamps.

FYI. The festoon type LED bulb for the license plate light may actually be polarized. I noticed one or the other didn't work and actually blew a fuse. At first I thought is was a bad bulb until I reversed them around. I didn't notice any marking on the bulbs. So just keep it in mind.
