How many Aussie Kizashi owners are out there?

The Kizashi should soon show up in Australia. We look forward to seeing members from your region.

Thanks topcat45. Definitely not telling me to suck eggs! :D
I did make sure the + wires are jammed correctly against the + of the relay blade. (It's the correct relay). The only thing I didn't do was to securely fasten the - like you did. I only held it against the car body whilst I was testing it, with the car running. Surely that can't be the reason for its failure to work!? I'm going to give it another go this weekend, if it still fails to work, will have to get a friend (with a tester) for help!

OK, good luck with that. Hopefully you might have tried to earth on a painted surface or something like that as a good earth is important (there I go telling you something you already know again, must be my TAFE teacher background lol). You also mentioned in a past post that you were going to put yours in a different spot, how did that go?

Hi all, has anyone had any serious problems regarding the alternator belt? I assume there are others out there that got the service campaign regarding the belt tension. I had mine 'fixed' two weeks ago (at 15000 kms) only to have the belt explode (for want of a better word) last night taking something from the water pump and also the sump with it leaving me in a puddle of oil and coolant. I'm concerned the service department at the dealer I used here in SA isn't all that good, I've heard a few rumours. I'd love anyone's thoughts on the issue or any tips with dealing with warranty claims.

That sounds serious. I had mine fixed more than a month ago, as per the Suzuki campaign (though I did wait quite a while for the part to come through). I hope this is a one- off occurrence and that you're the very unfortunate one to have it happened to. Good luck with your warranty claims. Do let us know how you go.

Still haven't gotten around to fixing my problem yet. Honestly, I've lost the enthusiasm a little bit!! :|

Hey, hang in there OK. Everybody that sees mine has very positive comments, even the dealer's service dept. Trust me, you will be happy once it's up & running. I am confident that it is something simple & I can only think of 3 possible reasons why it doesn't work
1 The positive wire is connected to the wrong blade on the #33 relay
2 The negative wire isn't earthed properly
3 Is it possible you have got the + & - wires about face

On another point, I decided to put the blue LED's that the ebay seller incorrectly supplied to use & am now using them as my door courtesy lights (see pics, 1 with flash, 1 without). A bit of a finicky job but the end result looks mad as my son would say. Yesterday my daughter said she saw a Kizashi with similar lights out front but they were blue. Won't be long before Mr Plod pulls him over.

Have another go at your DRL's, I'm sure it's something simple.

The Blue looks nice.
I've done white LED all round interior and number plate lights.

I was trying to swap the parkers to some Blue Visions that I have from my last car, to match the HIDs. But no luck. They are quite impossible to get to.
Anyone has any ideas that doesn't involve taking the bumper or the headlight unit apart?

Thanks guys.

Re: Alternator belt.
Had mine fixed at 5000kms. So far so good... at 10,000kms.
The car started making some grinding noise at start up (idling) in the morning recently. Lasts about 2 secs, and then it's fine the rest of the day. Don't know if it's serious or related.

Thanks Lee, my son said "looks like a bloody disco" So far I haven't had any serious mechanical issues with the car, maybe because it is fairly new. I called the dealer service dept when I heard about the pulley issue & was told it didn't include mine as it was the latest model. I was unaware of the belt problem so will call them re that. I also read of some having probs with the Rockford Fosgate stereo but mine has been great so far. Touch wood my good fortune will continue.

Not quite impossible, just *@!#ing difficult! I swapped mine for LEDs as the "yellow" parkers looked ridiculous next to the HID low beams. There was a lot of swearing and brused and bleeding hands, but I got it done in the end (mind you I have quite small hands). It now looks much better although the LEDs are a little "bluer" than the HIDs.

G'day Minority, where did you get the LED parkers from if you don't mind me asking? That will save me taking things apart just to see what the globes look like
