Less than 2,000 miles now on my 2012 SLS. Happened about three times when was under 1,000 miles. Hasn't happened since.

Had something strange happen to mine today, I did the usual clutch in and a quick push of the start button. It cranked but didn't fire up cleanly and was running very slowly with numerous warning lights on til it stalled. Tried again and it barely cranked over and the warning lights stayed on... so I thought the battery had died! Third time, I held the starter button in and it fired and started. I've never had that before.

It was a warm day and the vehicle had been started earlier in the day with no problems. It had been sitting for around 90 minutes. The climate control was left on (so aircon would have kicked in when it was starting), but that's never been a problem previously. 2011 build ~4000km and 7 months ownership from new.

The TSB is USA model specific, has anyone in Australia had something similar happen?

No fault codes stored and my ECU software is 33980-57L5 Version 00001 (going by the info from a generic OBDII scanner.) That code isn't on the TSB listing.

Well now....at 39,000-ish miles, this happened for, apparently, the second time. I just went out to spin the car around so the sun melts off the ice on the other side. Reviewing this thread, it happened to me once before and I never had the re-flash done, forgot all about it actually (dang it, and I was just at the service center for annual state inspection). Guess I'll forget about it again since it'll likely be another year until the Kiz is back at the zuk service center. Oh well.

Basically, exactly what the subject heading says. You push the start button and the engine cranks on for a very long time and doesn't start (or barely runs... and roughly.) It might need a second push of the start button to get it running.

Not that I could have ever had that happen - Suzuki dealers say the problem doesn't exist in Australia!

Two times in two years and both times it was when the car was wet or had been driven in the rain. I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not.

Aaaagghhh, it's the American terminology that got me. We refer to the engine "turning over" rather than cranking. Cheers
