114 days; Part II

Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

Kizashi-flying, tires howling. Time for summer's tires. Wonder what I'll actually do.

There are strategic corner whoops now that permit one so inclined to get one side of the car COMPLETELY up in the air.

DEFINING INSANITY:

I've owned Kizashis since Dec 23, 2010, which means for 2,131 days I've averaged 113 miles each.
-2,131 days
-241,353 miles

But, there are no underbody panels left on this one......

I did have some left on the old one but they were mere remnants of their original configurations

Heard crackling from the right-front-door speaker with the stereo off when backing up or moving forward slowly, but it did not duplicate this morning. Hmmmm.....
Hit two holes yesterday; ugh.

Last tank 26.9 MPG.

Well I gone and done it; I bought new tires --gasp!-- not used, for the Kizashi.

I was shoppin' around craigslist, using a $250 cap, when I decided to google my size (225/50 R17), and discounttiredirect had some Chinese "Sentury" UHP W-rated XL skins for $64 each. Did a quick review search ("...good in dry, not as good as some in the wet"...).
And they only weigh 24lb.
Set's on the way.

We'll see 8-)

Last two tanks Gulf premium both returned 31.4MPG. Warmer.....

The folks at DiscountTireDirect.com called to let me know my new tires won't be here before May 6, so I'm sliding around on my bald Toyo snows until then........

Gas mileage is hovering in the 29--32MPG range!

Tires will be here this week.

Still need:
-plugs
-all fluids replaced
-upper rear shock mounts
-windshield (and wiper blades)
-figure out the stereo issues

Great gas mileage now.

Tires go on today; actual weight 23lb each.

I washed it on the way in, especially the mud out of the wheels. They like that (the guys doing the work).

My my my........

So my $64-each tires are quiet. They currently (at 42PSI front, 40 rear) exhibit no 'set', nor 'unwind'. They certainly grip. While I've had little opportunity to push them in the wet, the bit I've done suggests they're at least safe.
Further testing required.

Last tank Gulf premium 27.0 MPG.
